Climate Change Data Dumped?

SCIENTISTS at the University of East Anglia (UEA) have admitted throwing away much of the raw temperature data on which their predictions of global warming are based.

It means that other academics are not able to check basic calculations said to show a long-term rise in temperature over the past 150 years.

How convenient. Are they serious?

They tossed the data that was so crucial to supporting the man-made global warming argument? Why would they do that?

Unless of course, that data proved once and for all that they were simply full of shit.

There’s A Strange Wind Blowing

On November 19, 2008, while addressing the topic of climate change and reducing emissions, Presidential candidate Barack Obama said,

“Delay is no longer an option. Denial is no longer an acceptable response.”

But, on November 15, 2009, President Barack Obama and other world leaders agreed to delay a climate pact.

There's nothing like the consistency of the Obama administration.

YouTube Used to Solve Carrollton Crimes 111009 | myfoxatlanta.com

Carrollton police have turned to the internet and YouTube to help them solve crimes. Police said they've already solved number of crimes and have had numerous tips come in on other cases.

It's nice to know that law enforcement in our area is using the Internet to help solve crimes.

Now I just wish our local journalists would print relevant URL information when they talk about YouTube channels and Twitter accounts.

You've Been Hyped! iPhone 'Rick Astley' Worm

An Australian student sparked fears of a new era of computer viruses on Tuesday after creating a worm which infects Apple's iconic iPhone with pictures of 1980s pop star Rick Astley.

Ashley Towns, 21, who lives with his family near Sydney, said he was trying to raise security awareness with his cheeky but harmless "Ikee" worm, which spreads from phone to phone along wireless networks.

"This virus pretty much exploits people's laziness to change their password," he said, according to public broadcaster ABC.

OMG. Every iPhone owner better beware. Oh wait. Keep reading.

It isn't until the 6th paragraph that we learn this worm only affects iPhones which have been modified or "jail-broken".

In other words, the only way this worm can affect you is if you break your phone in the first place.

Stupid.

Coles 'racist ' biscuit backdown | Creole Creams

Supermarket giant Coles will change the name of an in-house brand of biscuits amid claims it is racist.

Coles Spokesman Jim Cooper said the name of the "You'll Love Coles" brand of chocolate and vanilla biscuits, called Creole Creams, will be changed as part of the company-wide rebranding of Coles products.

The name change comes on the back of claims of racism, with the word Creole used to describe a person of mixed European and African ancestry.

Exactly how far must things go before people realize how ridiculous they are? Does this mean that the Creole Restaurant in New York should close because they are racist?

What about the Creole application from the Chisel Group, the Creole consulting group from Louisiana, the Indiana University Creole Institute, and the Creole Queen riverboat in New Orleans?

Are all of these companies racist?

"The word Creole comes from a period when people's humanity was measured by the amount of white blood they had in their bloodstream. This is the same kind of thought that underpinned horrific regimes like the Nazis," Mr Watson said.

Wow. According to Sam Watson, the deputy director of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies Unit at the University of Queensland, they most definitely are.

Is Sam Watson capable of using his brain to come to a logical conclusion before jumping on the racist bandwagon? Obviously not.

Polanski Victim Wants Charges Dropped

The woman who was raped by Roman Polanski when she was 13 years old has asked a Los Angeles court to dismiss the charges against the director, who is fighting extradition to the U.S. following his arrest in Zurich last month. Samantha Geimer says she has been barraged with media inquiries since Polanski's arrest, and that since she's publicly forgiven the 'Chinatown' director for his crime, she'd like for the charges to be dropped.

He was charged, he pled guilty, and he ran before sentencing. I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think you can "drop" charges after someone has been convicted.

In essence, she wants to let Polanski skate for his crime because she's fed up with the media attention. Ridiculous.
